Here are some answers to commonly asked questions about hair extensions. If you have a question that's not answered, contact me.

Q: Will having hair extensions look false or like I'm wearing a wig?

A: I match all extensions perfectly to your own hair's weight and colour so you get a very natural look. Extensions shouldn't look like they are extensions - that's the secret.

Q: How long to hair extensions last for?

A: All extensions will last around 3 months and if looked after well they could last longer. When I'm applying them for you, I'll tell you how to care for them and keep them in good condition.

Q: How long does it take you to apply hair extensions?

A: The time to apply hair extensions varies depending on if you want a full change of length or just a few to enhance your own hair. A few racoon streaks or tiger stripes will obviously take less time than a full head of hair.

Typically, it can takes anything from 30 minutes to 7 hours to apply hair extensions. By far the majority of applications can be completed in a very reasonable space of time - contact me and tell me what type of thing you are looking to achieve and I can give you a much clearer guage as to how much time you'll need to put aside for it.

Q: I'm worried that after I have hair extensions my hair can't be touched. How do I keep my scalp clean and what if my boyfriend runs his hands through my hair?

A: With hair that great, it's hardly suprising that he'll want to touch it more! Don't worry - the hair extensions are applied about one centimeter away from the scalp so you can still touch and wash your hair as normal.

Q: Does it require a lot of work to maintain hair extensions? Are they difficult to upkeep?

A: Hair extensions are actually very easy to look after, although you very likely will notice that it will take a little bit longer to dry and style your hair because you will have more of it! You can treat hair extensions pretty much like you would your own hair.

Q: Do you mean that I can style my hair extensions?

A: Oh yes! You can use a hot hairdryer, straighteners, curling tongs and heated rollers or just let your hair dry naturally. Hair extensions will dry with a natural wave if you do that, but as you can see they can be styled however you want.

Q: Can you ever have too many hair extensions? Could it damage my hair?

A: Yes, there is a limit and that's why it's worth your while choosing an experienced hair extension stylist, like myself, to apply your hair extensions for you. Having seen so many heads I know exactly how much hair extension to put onto your own hair and how much your hair can take. When you use me to apply your hair extensions, I'll make sure that we only use a safe amount so that there is no danger to your natural hair, whatever condition it is in.

Q: So is it damaging having hair extensions?

A: It might be if I glued them to your head, but I don't!!! The bonding we'll use when I apply your hair extensions is a Protein based bonding (not glue!) so it is non-damaging to your hair.

Q: How do you take the hair extensions out?

A: To remove hair extensions, we'll use a solution that turns the bonding back into powder form so the extensions just side out. It's that easy! There's no painful tugging at your hair to go through.

Q: How many hair extensions would I need to lengthen my hair?

A: To lengthen your hair, the average person needs about 130 hair extensions. Having said that, it very much depends on the thickness of your own hair.

Q: What areas do you cover? Can I get hair extensions fitted by you where I live?

A: I'd love to do your hair extensions for you! I live in Morden. If you know where Epsom in Surrey is or Wimbledon in South West London is, it's near there. I do regularly travel to fit hair extensions for people. I'll cover anywhere local to me such as Croydon, Kingston, Richmond, Putney, Chelsea, Battersea, Fulham - in fact the whole of London - as standard.

If you are outside London, I'm still happy to come but you will need to make a contribution towards travel costs. I regularly visit places like Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Oxford and Cambridge. Call me and we can work out whether it's something that'll work for you.
